Captured by the Iraqis

Kevin Dawes was working as an oil worker in Kuwait when Iraq invaded the country in August 1990. Dawes and his colleagues were captured by Iraqi forces and taken to a prison camp in Baghdad. For the next seven months, Dawes was subjected to torture and interrogation by his Iraqi captors. He was beaten, starved, and threatened with execution.

In October 1990, Dawes was transferred to a military camp in southern Iraq. There, he was forced to undergo basic military training and was assigned to a unit of Iraqi soldiers. Dawes was given a rifle and a uniform, and he was told that he would be fighting against the United States in the upcoming Gulf War.

Fighting for Saddam

Dawes was horrified at the thought of fighting against his own country. He had never been a soldier, and he had no desire to kill anyone. But he knew that if he refused to fight, he would be executed. So, he reluctantly agreed to join the Iraqi army.

Dawes fought in several battles during the Gulf War. He saw his fellow soldiers killed and wounded, and he came close to death on several occasions. He was eventually captured by American forces in February 1991, and he was repatriated to the United States.

After the War

After the war, Dawes struggled to adjust to civilian life. He suffered from post-traumatic stress disFree Download (PTSD),and he had difficulty finding a job. He eventually found work as a security guard, and he has since become an advocate for other veterans who have suffered from PTSD.

Dawes' story is a powerful reminder of the horrors of war. It is also a story of survival, courage, and redemption. Dawes faced unimaginable challenges, but he never gave up hope. He is a true American hero.

The Shocking Story of an American Forced to Fight for Saddam Against the United States is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand the true cost of war. It is a story that will stay with you long after you finish reading it.
