In his new book, Fixing Intelligence, former CIA officer Michael Hayden lays out a plan for reforming the intelligence community and making it more effective. Hayden argues that the intelligence community needs to be more centralized, with a single director who has the authority to oversee all intelligence activities. He also calls for the creation of a new National Intelligence Service, which would be responsible for collecting and analyzing intelligence from all sources.
Hayden's plan is bold and ambitious, but it is also necessary. The threats facing America are growing more complex and dangerous every day. We need an intelligence community that is up to the task of protecting our nation.
Fixing Intelligence is a must-read for anyone who is concerned about the future of American national security. It is a clear-eyed and honest assessment of the challenges facing the intelligence community, and it offers a roadmap for making the necessary reforms.
